Due to the nature of dance the teaching methods are often based on teachers’ tacit knowledge. The purpose of this study is to analyze the cognitive factors of learners by means of a questionnaire survey of dance majors. As a result, a new approach is reflected in the students’ internal self-reflection, such as “I can’t be concrete”, “It takes a long time”, “I’m stuck in the past”, “I don’t know how to start”, “I don’t know how to communicate”, “unknown destination”, “verbalization”, “creation of ideas”, “methods of expression”, “experience knowledge”, “awareness of audience response”, “discovering new ideas”. It was divided into two categories: one related to “process,” such as the progress of dance creation and how to start it, and the other related to “elements” of dance creation, such as creative ideas and methods of expression.
