Considering the need for locating information by subject, classification numbers and subject headings as the standard access points are used by almost all libraries to show the subjects of library materials. They are assigned to all items listed in the online catalog, which makes it easier for library users to find books on the same or similar topics. Therefore, they can serve as very useful and important data items for library users to retrieve relevant information and identify resources efficiently and effectively. This means, they provide university students with several vital clues to understanding the topics in connection with their subject area and this is especially true in the case of newly emerging topics such as “eSports”.\nThrough the bibliographic data available from NDL-Bib, this paper verifies which class numbers and subject headings are being assigned to the literature on eSports. Furthermore, this paper reviews the extent to which the keywords “meeting” and “competition,” that commonly occur in the definitions of eSports found in books, dictionaries, and websites, are expressed under the subject heading, eSports(Contests） in LCSH.
