This subject is a one semester class offered twice a year in the Spring and Fall semesters.Since2017, four terms have passed. All foreign students in both kanji and non-kanji areas are able to take this class, and their Kanji ability is then measured by the class. There were two main findings. In the non-kanji areas, the level of Vietnamese students was higher compared to students of other countries. And the number of Chinese students studying in the kanji area was not necessarily high. The results of the Placement Test conducted at the time of enrollment of university and the Kanji Proficiency conducted at the beginning of the course, then revealed a correlation between Japanese proficiency for the foreign students and Kanji ability.
