The exact temperament used by J. S. Bach has been unclear for a long time. Lehman claims that the key to the mystery has been hidden in the spiral diagram at the title page of “Das wohltemperierte Clavier” manuscript (1722). He regards three different kinds of spiral diagrams as intervals of narrowed 5ths: it could clear the tuning system used by Bach. Sadly, Bach/Lehman temperament is not comfortable.
