My latest monograph, "Structure in Deeper Layer of Mozart's Music" published in BULLETIN OF SHOBI-GAKUEN JUNIOR COLLEGE N0. 15 (2000), testifies to the possibility of Mozart's intention to construct many musical pieces based on the formality in number of measure : the second movement generally has a resrular structure of four or eight measures, where each set of two measures is regarded as a subject ; the third movement continues using the motive, while it keeps a structure of four or eight measures from beginning to end ; in the first movenet to the contrary, the continuing use of four or eight measures decreases and irregular structures containing odd number measures come to control the whole ; and the presentation part by this irregular structure is marked by many compression structures on the formality in number of measure as seen in the dominant section after the second theme in "Piano Sonata F-dur Kv. 332." Beethoven's musical pieces are also as much characterized as Mozart's by the same kind of structure based on the formality in number of measure. The first half of this monograph treats the second and the third movements of periods by irregular structure whereas taking in periods of eight measures. Its second half discusses the structure of presentation and development of the first movements abounding in irregular structures. It especially focusses on the proper use of six or eight measures and the compression structure. To conclude : the structure in deeper layer which basically supports the forms such as rondo form, sonata form, and so on holds the key to the formation of music as time art.
