His ties with the city were represented through paintings that show the saint with Florentine symbols such as lilies and lions (Marzocco), from 1330 onward. In Giovanni del Biondo's St. Zenobius Enthroned, painted in ca. 1380, wecan see the saint, wearing a coat of lily, with eight personifications of virtue and three ofvice.
