Kimura (2009) found the listening ability progressed significantly after 3-weekoverseas program. In the current study, the author tried to examine if the participants' progress inlistening can be observed at any point during the 3-week period making use of STEP test. At the sametime, the author tried to find out if the participants' writing proficiency improved by analyzing essayswritten before and after the program. The analysis was practiced not only by making use of T-units andError-free T-units but also by utilizing \"Global-error-free T-units\" as a new attempt. It was because\"Global-error-free T-unit\" was thought to be more suitable to analyze the written language of writerswith very low English proficiency. The results were that their listening proficiency showed significantprogress after 3-week program though no point during the period was ascertained when their listeningability got significantly higher.
